The Hotel, the Cats, the House and the Car

The hotel is pretty nice – 2 bedrooms, one for an absent Claire, so the cat’s have it!, and a kitchen plus living/dining room. The view is off to the sea in the West.

We are on the 13th floor and we look down on the pool. However look a little to the left and you see 2 very large but unfinished buildings. Not an unusual sight in Dubai – but they are working on them. The cats enjoy the view!

The cats are well settled - this is their “bedroom”. Guess where they sleep though?

Here is the new house which we should get into in a couple of weeks when they have painted it all (not our car and not our furniture)

The kitchen is small, but will do fine. There is also a fountain! Not usually used in the summer months because of the evaporation.

The previous tenant has very kindly left most curtains and quite a lot of plants which is great.

And here is the pool and the car. Not ours yet as Howard has to get his residency before he can be registered for it…

Back to Scotland

Just some assorted images of our trip back home. Orkney was looking fabulous, Spring had sprung, the family are doing great and we had a pretty nice time.

Farewell to Miri - the packing

This was the first strange sight - the Freestone's BJ in the back garden-somebody must be getting rid of plants!

Then the packing started. 17th May with 3 full days. I didn't think I had THAT much stuff!

Then there was Hatsie (and Minee) who kept me sane! A scene from LOTR maybe?!
Then there was the loading - it took all day on the 4th day. Was it all going to go in? The container was an oven.

And yes it finally went it! Whew! Cold beers all round and well deserved they were too.

And so to the Marriot for the last 4 nights in Miri. Quite a send off.....

This is a video of the house packed up.
