Dalat

Our 3 nights in Dalat were very special. We stayed in the Dalat Palace, a lovely hotel built by the French in the 20s in the mountains as a retreat from the heat of Saigon. It was restored back to its former glory in the 1990s.

Our room....note the old phone.

The bathroom and the view from the window...

The flower arrangement in the hallway and the library...and another old phone..

The dining room, at breakfast time on the terrace, and in the evening....

The local church and the market...Dalat itself reminded us of Scotland - it could have been Pitlochry - except for the fruit for sale...!

Our car..? No actually a previous managers car. He used to meet guests at the airport with it. Now apparently you can rent it, along with a driver, for a trip around town...

And on the day that Howard was in quite some pain with a bad back, they delivered breakfast to our room, and later sent a basket of fruit and a get well soon card from the staff.
Cluedo....
