An easy day with a half hour cycle from home to Haymarket, and a 2 hour train journey to Helensburgh. The B and B is 3 minutes from the station, so we cycled over, checked in and then headed off for a short explore, along the water front. Breezy and a bit chilly with a fresh westerly wind, we did manage a beer in the garden of the Ardencaple Hotel with a lovely view over the Gairloch.
Back to the B and B for a coffee and relax and then a perfectly acceptable dinner at the Riverhill Courtyard before an early night.
Because of the current situation neither the Submarine Museum nor the Hill House are open. We must return to see these sometime, but there is little else that would bring us back to Helensburgh.
