It seems very soon to be off on another adventure but the weather is good, friends are waiting in Ireland, and why not?!
So 8am departure from home, a stop on the Ayrshire coast for a ridiculous shipwreck memorial,
…and then onwards to Stranraer Golf Club for a 12.22 tee time. Lovely weather and a super course, spoilt only by the speed of play so it was 5pm before we finished. However it was a super day weather wise so what was the hurry?
Back in the car we had a scenic if adventurous drive across tiny B roads to Portpatrick. Checked into our very nice hotel, a drink on the terrace and thrn most definitely a walk down to the harbour where the weekend Folk Festival was in full swing. Sunshine, a pub and great music! What is not to like?
We chatted to a local lass at the pub, enjoyed her dog and the music and then headed back up the steps to our hotel. We had booked dinner for 7.30 and we could not believe what our HB deal entailed! Basic fare but well cooked and plentiful and very very reasonably priced. Very happy, all in all.
