Well as it turns out, this is NOT an indigenous species! We spotted this poor iguana on the Emirates golf course yesterday, attracting a lot of attention from the local bird population. After calling a vet and a green keeper to rescue this poor animal, it turns out it was the escaped pet of one of the golf club staff. It was a beautiful animal, about 2 1/2 feet long in total.
