The day really started the night before when Lufthansa sent us a text late at night on the 17th saying our early morning flight the next day was cancelled. Luckily a swift call to Lufthansa sorted the situation and we had flights via Cologne to Munich. Sadly they arrived about 6 hours after Claire’s flights from London which couldn’t be helped.
A taxi to Edinburgh airport for Howard, Katy and I had a hang about both Edinburgh and Cologne but finally met up with Claire in Munich about 6pm. Very exciting! Our transfer was waiting, an hour and a half drive to Passau and a check in to our weird and wonderful hotel! A very fast turnaround and out to the river for drinks and dinner.
After a lovely (but meaty!) dinner we walked round the point of the river in the lovely cool evening and felt very glad we were all here and together!
