China Town, Golden Gate Park and Sausalito

We started the morning sitting in Union Square with a coffee and strolling around the art exhibits. After a greyish day yesterday it was another lovely day.

This was followed by a walking tour of China Town this morning with guide Peter. It is the oldest and most densely populated in the US.

It included a visit to a Buddist Temple (no pictures) and a fortune cookie factory (fortune cookies are an entirely American invention apparently!) This lady make them by hand, all 10,000 per day!
We then joined the City Tour and drove on to Golden Gate Park, nowhere near the bridge by the way. We hired bikes and cycled down to Ocean Beach for lunch at the Beach Chalet, and came across Queen Wilhemina's Tulip Garden and windmill!

Back on the bus we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge again and down to Sausalito for the second time.  Now we had time to stroll past the houseboats and huge marina, and have a drink overlooking the water before the drive back to Fishermans Wharf.
We then strolled back into China Town for dinner and came across this fabulous view as the sun set. Marin Headlands to the north of Golden Gate Bridge, and the ocean beyond.
