Day 20 Tuesday 16/5/2017 A very lazy day beside the lake. We didn't wander far. A stroll to the supermarket for a picnic lunch, a walk a kilometre or two northwards towards the Gorge, picnic beside the lake, and a brief tie dip in the water - it is NOT warm enough to swim yet.
There lots of warnings about swimming. This lake is an artificial lake, following a dam construction in 1971. Thus there is concern about the unstable lakeside beaches. Also the only engines allowed on the lake are electrical ones, to keep the water supply clean perhaps?
We played boules as the day cooled, had a couple of beers at The Green Oak and then cooked out tea down on the lakeside. A very relaxing day after some heady experiences. We have decided to stay 3 nights, it was such fun.
...and anyway it was too cold!
